U9 Ipswich Girls Lacrosse vs. Beverly

This past Sunday the U9 Ipswich Girls lacrosse faced a fierce Beverly team. With Isabella Racho in goal first half making two tremendous saves and Vivian Bodycombe making one save second half, the Beverly team was only able to score two goals. Tight defense by Ella McCarthy, Isabel Welenc, Hazel Cormier, and Alli Colannino made it nearly impossible for the Beverly girls to get off enough passes to allow a shot. Isabella Racho (1 assist), Cabot Johnson (1 assist), and Natalie Elder (2 assists) kept the ball moving in the midfield against a strong Beverly defense and were aggressive on ground balls. Phoebe Allen was a master at the draw and facilitating shots around the goal, garnering a hat trick (and then some) supplemented by goals from teammates Zoe Pincus (also 1 assist) and Gracyn Cummins. A special shout out to Ella Scofield, Elliot Sinausky, and Maddie Machaiek, all first-year players who retrieved ground balls, made catchable passes, and caught the ball during their second game ever! Clearly the team’s hard work is paying off. Go, Ipswich!
